After being demoted and transferred to the most undesirable beat on Staten Island, Detective Mike Logan (Chris Noth) is suffering the consequences of assaulting a politician. Miserable in his job and struggling to cope with his circumstances, Mike comes across a murder case that had been previously closed, and he seizes the opportunity to resurrect his career.
